Brazil Coach Build for World Cup with Younger Team
October 17, 2019
Brazil was out of the Russia 2018 World Cup with a short-term objective which was to win the Copa America on the home soil. They had been successful in accomplishing the mission. Tite, the coach has confessed that he was anguished after returning from the World Cup being eliminated by Belgium in the quarter-final. However, winning Copa changed that.
Hence, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the veterans will now be pushed out of the picture. Miranda in the center-back, Filipoe Luis in the left-back, Fernandinho in the midfielder, and Willian the winger are over 30 and have eased out of contention, gently. However, Thiago Silva is going to stay for a while but feels that he might lose out on his place in the center of defense. Eder Militao, the new signing by Real Madrid will be the partner of Marquinhos in the middle.
The only 2 players thirty or older are playing at the right-back and there are certain reasons for this. One is Daniel Alves, the team captain has just moved back to Brazil and the other is that after opposing the position, Brazil is finding without too many options.
Ultimately, there is the problem of the domestic calendar. FIFA dates are coinciding with the Brazilian Cup. They are in contention against Atletico Paranaense, Gremio, Internacional, and Cruzeiro. The coach isn’t calling up any players from the mentioned team which means that he will lose the chance to test Leonardo Gomes from Gremio.
